We collect information you provide directly and information generated through your use of the service:

• Account information: Name, email address, and profile details (bio, age range, learning notes) when you create an account.
• Authentication data: If you sign in with Google, we receive your name and email from Google. We do not receive your Google password.
• Learning activity: Topics you search, lessons generated for you, quiz results, streak data, and AI points earned.
• Subscription and billing: If you subscribe to a paid plan, payment is processed by Stripe. We store your subscription tier and status but never your card details.
• Usage data: Pages visited, features used, device type, and browser type — collected to improve the service.
• Communications: If you contact us by email, we keep that correspondence.

3. How We Use Your Information

• To provide and personalise your AI-generated lessons based on your level, age, and learning notes.
• To track your learning progress, streaks, and points.
• To send Bite Feed lesson emails if you subscribe to that feature.
• To process payments and manage your subscription.
• To send transactional emails (account verification, password reset).
• To improve the platform, fix bugs, and develop new features.
• To comply with legal obligations.

We do not use your data to train AI models, sell to advertisers, or share with data brokers.

4. AI and Third-Party Services

BiteLearning generates lessons using the following AI providers. Your search queries and lesson context are sent to these services to generate responses:

• Anthropic (Claude) — Privacy Policy
• OpenAI (GPT-4o) — Privacy Policy
• Google (Gemini) — Privacy Policy
• Perplexity AI — Privacy Policy

We also use the following services to operate the platform:

• Supabase — database and authentication hosting
• Vercel — application hosting and serverless functions
• Stripe — payment processing

Each provider operates under their own privacy policy. We share only the minimum data necessary to provide the service.

5. Cookies and Local Storage

We use cookies and browser local storage to keep you signed in and remember your preferences. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. You can clear cookies in your browser settings at any time, which will sign you out.

6. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. Learning history and points data are kept to provide your personalised experience. If you delete your account, we delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it by law.

7. Children's Privacy

BiteLearning is designed to be safe for learners of all ages, including minors. We collect age range information to adapt AI-generated content appropriately. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without verifiable parental consent. Depending on your location, you may have the following rights:

• Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
• Correction: Update or correct your personal data via your Profile settings.
• Deletion: Request deletion of your account and associated data.
• Portability: Request your data in a machine-readable format.
• Opt-out: Unsubscribe from Bite Feed emails at any time from your Bite Feed settings.

9. Data Security

We use industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS), secure database hosting via Supabase, and restricted access to production systems. No system is 100% secure — if you believe your account has been compromised, please contact us immediately.

10. International Users

BiteLearning is operated from the United States. If you access our service from outside the US, your data will be transferred to and processed in the US. By using the service, you consent to this transfer. We take steps to ensure appropriate safeguards are in place.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by posting a notice on the platform or by email.
